Teams of artists from different countries delight both young and old, guests and locals, with their activity. The artists' work becomes an exclusive attraction turning the village square into a hive of activity, and always gaining much respect. The six-day festival comes to a close with a ceremony accompanied by folkloric acts. A jury of experts judges the giant, but also transitory, masterpieces created according to the criteria: topicality, originality and skill. The works of art are judged not only by specialists but the public can also give the sculptors an opinion based on the impressions of the spectator. However, not only artistic design and craftsmanship are at the centre of the Snow Festival in Grindelwald, the social contact between the individual teams is also of utmost importance. For this reason, communal outings, the opportunity of exchanging experiences and finally also the traditional fondue evening and tobogganing are planned.
